Why Grass-fed Beef is Best

Our practice of raising grass-fed cattle supports both financial and ecological sustainability. Healthy, wholesome ranch raised beef that will efficiently convert grasslands to healthy affordable meat is one of the keys to sustainable& profitable ranching.

FO brought this wealthy pool of genetics to the USA where we have skillfully crossed together the New Zealand Turihaua genetics with FO American Angus to produce a unique and improved line of registered American Angus Association beef.

FO cattle progress from mother's milk to clean fresh pastures on natural grasses. We add nothing to what nature provides:

  • Our beef is all natural with no added hormones or antibiotics
  • Grass-fed beef has 27% less fat than grain-fed beef
  • Cattle finished on grass have significantly higher levels of beta-carotene than those finished in a feedlot
  • Grass-fed beef is naturally high in Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Current research shows that an increase in the ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 series of fatty acids in the human diet reduces the incidences of coronary heart diseases, some cancers and other related diseases.

Studies at Hillsborough Research Institute showed cattle that are grass-fed and finished on pasture had a ration of Omega-3 to Omega-6 series four times greater than beef cattle finished on feedlot diets.
